Welcome to Howe, Idaho, your average small American town. It had always been one of those places where everybody knew everyone's name and business. The kind of town where everyone was your neighbour and wanted to help you out. That was until the construction of Howe Academy, a boarding school for students in years nine through twelve was built in 1956. The school flourished for twenty years without anything changing. Students came from all over Idaho and it's neighbouring states. They even got a few children from across the country and Canada. Things were good for Howe Academy and the town.
In 1976 Jonathan Wellington, a new headmaster, was appointed to the school. He made several drastic changes. All of which were good. He expanded from getting children from the United States and Canada, to getting students from all over the world. He also added a college campus. That had brought in many, many more students, staff, and even new people in the town, which was still small, but not the everybody knows everyone kind of town like it used to be. It was then when Wellington hired Amanda Smith, an avid horse enthusiast from New Zealand, to start and equestrian programme. Smith had a huge impact on the school, turning into a top equine studies and riding school. The school then became a popular place for equestrians.
It has been that way until two years ago in 2007 when strange things started happening. First staff started mysteriously disappearing, with new staff coming in. The new staff was rather strange, and several students made up rumours that they were working for the government. Students then started to go missing for reasons unknown. People had let slip that it was government secrets and students were finding out, and they had to be 'taken care' of.
But what has the government been doing exactly? You see they have somehow been administrating something to the people. A drug? A toxin? No one is quite sure what it is, why they are using it, or what their plan is exactly. But there are people who do know. The students that have been tested on start to exhibit special powers such as the ability to manipulate matter, themselves, and even time. A few even possessed super-human powers like extreme athletic ability. It all depends on what the people were does with.
Powers have to be kept secret and under control. If they are displayed publicly you will get taken away. You can trust no one. Anybody may be working in secret for the government, even your fellow students. If you are lucky, you will find a secret group of people who also have 'abilities'. Can you survive?
