Taylor Entered the stable and found her horse. Her shiny liquid gold palomino with sugart mane and tail, stockings and blaze. Her name was Swift. A registered pure Quarter Horse mare, trained in Reining. Taylor smiled thinking of the pale filly she had raised that turned into this beauty. She slipped the tangerine halted on Swift, clipping on her bright pink lead rope, she led Swift outside. She tied her up and went and got her tack and grroming supplies. She swiftly groomed her until she shone like none other. Satisfied she heaved her western saddle and blanket on the back of Swift, evening it at her withers. She rounded to the front of Swift and sliped the bridle on her. She left swift ground tied as she put the grooming kit away and grabbed her guitar. She walked back out and leaned the guitar against the fence, heaving herself into the saddle before leaning down to grab the guitar. Putting the strap over her head, Taylor picked up the reins and headed to a trail that lead into a foresty part of the area.
Swift plodded along paitiently, head hung low in content. Her reins lay looped over the saddle horn as Taylor started playing her guitar, singing. Swift's ears swiveled back to listen to the melodius tune, " cause I can't help it if you look like an angel, can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain so, come feel this magic ive been feeling since i met you, can't help it if there's no one else...Mmmmm I can't help myself!" Taylor paused to look around. THey were in a small clearing with a lake. She picked up swift's rein and pulled her to a stop. " we rest here girl" SHe said, sliding carefully off of Swift.
She propped the guitar against the tree and took the saddle and blanket off Swift. She unclipped the reins and took the bit out of the bridle, letting her wander. Swift went straight to the water and walked in. Taylor smiled and grabbed her guitar, heading to the water's edge. She pulled her boots and socks off, rolling up her pants and sticking her feet into the water. Again she picked up playing the giutar. She couldn't help but wonder if someone would come along, if she would meet anyone. SHe thought no one would come out here, butit wouldn't suprise her if someone else would enjoy the day also.

Avery Celene Blackwood Avery had decided to go out on a hack today with Chase, her flea-bitten grey Dutch Warmblod gelding. She had finally found a stable to keep him, and her other two horses at. Since it was summer she had paid for pasture boarding for Chase and Roulette. She went into the feild with a navy blue nylon halter slung over her shoulder, a matching lead attached. She walked up to the grey and patted his shoulder. "Hey Chase. How's my boy today?" she said as she slipped the halter over his large head. She smoothed out his equally grey mane and adjusted the halter once it was on him. She gave a gentle tug and walked back to the direction of the barn, Chase in tow.
Once in the barn, she led Chase over to a set of cross ties in the aisle. She hooked him up and grabbed a brush out of her tack box and quickly went over him. He wasn't that dirty at all today, which was odd for Chase. He would usually find mud and purpously roll in it. Maybe therer wasn't any mud in the pasture. Once she finished his coat, she grabbed a hoof pick and picked up each on of his ebony feet to clean them.
Avery patted him on his rump as she made her way to the tack room. She came back and started tacking up. She had bought a new navy blue saddle pad the other day and was dying to put it on Chase. When she did, it made him look even more grey than usual. She smiled and lifted her old Crosby english saddle onto his back and fastened the girth. Before putting his dark brown bridle on, she put on a pair of full chaps over her worn blue jeans. Today she wasn't going to use a helmet, they weren't going to do any jumping. She walked around to her horse's head and slipped his bridle on over his halter. She made sure that the bridle, and halter, were fastened. She took the lead rope, which was still attached to his halter, and tied it around his neck. "Ready buddy?" she said as she led him outside and over to a stump to hop on him.
Once mounted, she patted her pocket to make sure that her phone was still there. She didn't know the area real well and her mobile service had a GPS thing on it, so if she got lost, she could just turn it one. She gentley nudged Chase into a walk.
Pretty soon the two were cantering across a feild and into a patch of wooded area. She slowed the gelding to a trot and then to walk. She could smell the water nearby. She hoped off Chase before the clearing and the lake, and ran her stirrups up. She pulled on the reins leading him forth.
When she entered the clearing, she heard singing and saw a figure and her horse by the water. Avery started to turn, not wanting to disturb her, when Chase let out a loud whinny and took Avery by surprise as he tugged on the reins to go and greet the other horse.

" I could be your favorite blue jeans with the holes in the knees in the bottom of the top drawer. I could be your little beauty queen, just a little out of reach or the girl living next door, I'll be your angel giving up her wings if thats what you need, i'd give everything to be your anything"Taylor sang as she watched Swift playing around in the water. She laughed as Swift rolled in a shallow spot. She heard the horse whinny, and spun to see avery. she waved, and quickly took her guitar off and waded into the water after Swift before she dared to try any stunts with the new horse. She grabbed hold of the bridle and lead her out. She picked up a rein and clipped it on holding onto it.
" Hey! nice to see you again. so this is one of your horses eh? very beautiful" She said walking up to her. Swift bobbed herhead up and down then flattened her ears. Taylor spunHer around before she could try and take a bit out of Her horse. " sorry, she takes time to get used to other horses"

Avery Celene Blackwood "Behave!" she hissed at her horse as she gave a slight jerk on the reins. She then saw Taylor wave to her before she went to go get her palomino. Avery glared at Chase once more before walkinf forth.
"Hey!" she greeted Taylor. "Yeah, this is Chase, my Warmblood. Your horse is beautiful! What's her name?" Avery was impressed by the golden mare's beauty. A horse like her must be worth a fortune.
As she was talking, Chase let out a whinny to Taylor's horse and stamped hid hoof. "Sorry, he likes to meet other horses." she said as she turned him in a circle.

" wowi've never seen a warmblood before! This is Swift. She surely don't look like the weak almost dead foal i rescued now do she?" Taylor said with a laugh. Sure the nowfamous reining horse was worth something, but she hadn't been born to be sold for a high price, she was born to be sold as dog food. " It's ok, swift hasn't met manyother horses, simply because thelast time i lether meet someone elses horse, I was payinga vet bill to theirhorse." She saidglaring at swift, recalling the time she had kicked and toreopen the knee of a reining horse that was worth more than any she had known. "I'd let you givea go at her right now in the western saddle, but you don't have too, she is pretty high strung at times,,unlike her mother, which would be betterfor starts" Taylor saidlaughing. She tied Swift to a tree afoor away from chase andcame back over.

ooc-- my muse is low
"She's beautiful. How'd she almost die?" Avery wanted to know how such a lovely mare almost died. You never would've known by looking at her. Avery smiled a bit as Taylor said that her horse had injured another horse. "I'm guessing she has a lot of spirit then."
Taylor then said somethingn about lettin her try ot a western saddle, but her horse was high strung. "I'd love to try it! I don't mind that she's high strung, I've had my fair share of rowdy horses. Have you ever ridden English before, cause if not you can hop on Chase."

" well Swift's mom was just barely getting by. She was just all skin and bones at the auction house and when I saw thefoal that lay unable to stand in the corner of the stall, I knew they were goingto most likely end up as dog food. So I bought them. hinestly I thougt neither would survive. Summer rain wastoo depressed from the loss of Swift's twin that she wouldn't nurst Swift. I took tothat, then Summer rain calmed and got healthy again and so didSwift. Turnsout the guy I bought them from was my neighbor. Now he begs and pleads to buy them back.." Taylor said looking overto Swift. " oh I'd love to try, ill get Swift tacked up. Shepicked up Swift blanket and saddle and swung iton herback, adjusting it just rightthen tightningthe girth. She threw the other rein and bit into Swift's mouth. " will you need help adjusting stirrups?" Taylorasked as sheledswift over to Avery.

Avery listened to the horrible story about Summer Rain and Swift. "that's terrible. I don't get how people can be so mean to animals, selling them in auctions. I mean auctions aren't bad, just when the slaughter people come. I would never sell them back to that git if I were you." She then watched Taylor tack up Swift. "I can probably get the stirrups. Would you mind holding Chase for me, if you get tired of him, use his lead rope to tie him to a tree or something." she said as she moved closer to Taylor and Swift. Avery reached her hand out to Swift, to let her sniff it. "You'll have to teach me this whole western thing, never done it before in my life."

Taylor smiled. " the price he wantsto give me forthem isn't even what they areworth. And of couseim going to say no." Taylor laughed. She gladly took Chaseand stroked him. He seemed to be a good horse. " Swift will teach you. Really thereisn't much differnce. your saddle is made for close contack with your horse, that one is made for comfort" taylor said with a smile.

Avery smiled a bit, she knew that Taylor would never sell either of her horses. She could tell how much she loved Swift just by watching her interact with the mare.
Avery listened as Taylor spoke about the different saddles. "Comfy sounds wonderful." she commented as she put her foot in the stirrup and swung herself over the palomino's back. She stroked the mare's neck as she settled into the saddle. Taylor was rihgt, Western saddles were ten times as comfy as English saddles. She could get used to this. "Neck reining, right?" she said as she picked up the split reins with one hand. She knew how to hold the reins, she had watched enough people do it and her had seen more than enough photographs. She then looked to Taylor for any further instructions.

" yes, but don't hit them across her neck. If you lay them on her neck she will turn, if you hit them, she will spin. Don't say whoa, pull back on the reins, or dig yourfeet in the stirupsall at the same time unless you want to do a sliding stop. Other than that, you should be good" Taylor said smiling.

"Alright, I thikn I've got it." she said as she gently nudged Swift forward into a walk, turning her in different directions to get the hang of neck reining. After a few minutes she nudged Swift into a jog. "Swift has a wonderful jog, it's almost as if she wasn't even moving." Avery commented, even though Taylor knew that about her horse. Avery always loved western jogs, trotting could get very choppy at times.

" Yes. That is one of the things that getsthe most attention at teh shows with her. Also she has been doing it long enough she knows what i want without me even asking her. She does that with anyone, try it" Taylor said taking the lead ropeto chase and tying it to a tree. She walked back over to thewaters edge and picked up theguitar and started playing apattern thatmatched swift hoof beats on the ground.

Avery was amazed at how well conected Swift and Taylor were. Avery felt Swift relax a bit when Taylor started to play her guitar. Avery reached up and patted Swift's withers as she brought her down to a walk so she could catch her breathy before trying loping with her. "Is her lope as nice as her jog?" she asked, curious to find out. "Oh, am I doing this all right so far?"
